Zapf

This fresh unfiltered rustic lager pours a deep gold colour. Notes of marmalade and a rich toasty malt character greet the nose. On the palate, toasted walnut meets some light honey tones leading to an earthy bitterness. The beer finishes off-dry with the earthiness and malt tones hanging out on the palate for a short while.

Zapf features Isaria1924 which is an heirloom German barley variety that was first approved for commercial use in 1924, making it the oldest certified German brewing barley. We thought it apt to use it for this rustic lager.
